I explore

a set of ideas

and photograph

scenes.

I am a black and white fine art photographer. My images resemble film stills and often reference favored directors. Visual narrative is essential to engage the viewer, create mystery, encourage interpretive conflict, and explore ambiguity. Using blurred motion (at times) helps to build a bit of momentum and anticipation. Context is loosely provided, which enables the viewer to understand my intentions.

My work is project-driven. After determining a theme inspired by a poem, a film, a bit of literature, or any combination thereof, I decide where best to create the images. Frequently traveling to urban environments, both in the United States and abroad, has helped me develop multiple storylines. A structured and cohesive attempt at a logical storytelling path is the ongoing basis for my fine art photography practice. Each viewer is encouraged to read the Images and use their imagination.
