What defines a noir film? Tone and mood come to mind as do darkness, black and white and shadows. It is a visual style that evokes German Expressionism and cinema here in the US in the 40’s and 50’s. The ten images in this project convey the noir concept with a hint of a narrative set in modern day New York City. All the elements are included along with contrast and a somewhat sinister quality. Only the first image is given a title. “It all started with a knock on the door.” The viewer is asked to use his/her imagination and determine the storyline.
